EDUCATION

OPPORTUNITY

Literacy is a foundational skill for academic success, yet many schools—especially those in underserved communities—lack access to high-quality, leveled reading materials that are aligned with educational standards. Teachers often struggle to find free, engaging, and curriculum-aligned content that supports reading comprehension, vocabulary development, and critical thinking. Recognizing this gap, CommonLit envisioned a platform that could offer a robust library of texts for grades 3–12, integrated with tools to support teaching and learning. Logic Nosh saw the opportunity to develop a comprehensive, easy-to-use platform that brings equitable, accessible literacy instruction to classrooms and homes across the globe.

EDUCATION

APPROACH

LLogic Nosh developed CommonLit as a teacher-first, learner-focused platform with flexibility, inclusivity, and academic rigor at its core. We built a clean and intuitive interface that gives educators access to thousands of free reading passages across genres—fiction, nonfiction, poetry, historical texts—organized by grade level, Lexile measure, theme, and literary device. Each text includes built-in comprehension questions, discussion prompts, and vocabulary activities. We integrated features like read-aloud, translation tools, annotation highlights, and guided reading modes to support English Language Learners (ELL) and students with diverse needs. The teacher dashboard allows for assignment tracking, progress monitoring, and automatic grading. All of this is delivered through a responsive design optimized for desktops, tablets, and mobile devices, making it accessible for both in-school and remote learning.
